Matt Lenzie is the Founder and Principal Broker of Commercial Mortgages Broker (CMB), a specialist property finance brokerage that has raised over £300 million of capital for property professionals across the United Kingdom. His career spans mainstream banking, corporate finance advisory, and specialist property lending, giving him a uniquely comprehensive perspective on how to structure and secure funding for complex property transactions.

Matt began his career at Lloyds Bank and Bank of Scotland, two of the UK's most prominent financial institutions. During this period, he developed deep expertise in credit analysis, commercial lending, and structured finance. Working within these institutions provided first-hand understanding of how banks assess risk, evaluate property assets, structure lending facilities, and make credit decisions at both regional and national level. This banking pedigree remains central to how CMB operates today -- understanding precisely what lenders need to see gives CMB clients a significant advantage in securing approvals and competitive terms.

Following his banking career, Matt became a partner in a corporate finance business, where he advised on capital raises, strategic financial planning, and complex deal structuring. This role required working across multiple asset classes and funding structures, from senior debt facilities through to equity raises and mezzanine instruments. The corporate finance discipline of rigorous financial modelling, deal structuring, and stakeholder management continues to inform his approach to arranging property finance at CMB.

Matt founded Commercial Mortgages Broker to apply this institutional-grade financial expertise to the specialist property finance market. Recognising that many property developers and investors were not receiving the quality of advice or depth of market access they needed, he built CMB as a firm that combines the analytical rigour of corporate finance with specialist knowledge of the property lending market. Under his leadership, CMB has built direct relationships with executives and board members at the UK's leading specialist lenders, high-street banks, and challenger banks.

In addition to leading CMB, Matt currently serves as a board advisor to a pension administrator and trustee with £3.9 billion of assets under advisory.
